anxiety, clinical depression, learning disorders, AD/HD, Autism Spectrum Disorders, peer problems, and family relationship problems.

What Makes Us Different?

We have expertise in both assessment (testing) and therapy. We hone in on the underlying causes of clients’ problems in order to target specific challenges. We always devote some time in sessions to build on our clients’ strengths in addition to bolstering weaknesses.  Each of the practitioners are dedicated to collaborating with school personnel, psychiatrists, nannies, other therapists and professionals, and any other person deemed important in the client’s life.

TESTIMONIAL FROM SHAWNA D:

When our son’s teacher recommended a psychological assessment after he displayed unusual behaviors in the classroom, we were fortunate to be referred to Dr. Weisz.  At the time, we were absolutely lost, and Dr. Weisz acted as a most competent and caring guide to help us navigate the testing process.  She was able to keep our son calm and engaged during testing, which reassured us that the results – whatever they may be – would be as accurate as possible.

As it turns out, our son met the diagnostic criteria for Autism Spectrum Disorder.  While we were somewhat prepared for the diagnosis, no parent can ever be fully prepared and so we were very grateful when Dr. Weisz walked us through the meticulous report that she had prepared to help us to fully absorb the results. That report has proven to be the single most important source of information for therapists, aides, teachers and family members. In addition to the report, Dr. Weisz provided us with a list of suggested therapies and the names and numbers of qualified therapists with whom she was familiar. Three years later, we are still working with the ABA therapist that she recommended.  And our son, he’s doing wonderfully.  Early intervention has made a huge difference in our son’s life and it would not have been possible without the testing and tools provided by Dr. Weisz. Thank you always, Dr. Weisz.

TESTIMONIAL FROM JULIE Z:

Dr Weisz was absolutely wonderful for our family! She helped both our 6 year old daughter and 10 year old son with their individual needs, but also helped our family come to a greater understanding of each other. She was gentle, caring, creative, empathetic, and extremely knowlegable in her treatment of our children. We truly enjoyed working with her as a team to help our children learn to help themselves. She gave all of us “tools in our toolbox” to specifically cope with feeling overwhelmed when facing academic tasks, to cope with worries, and to help combat sadness by changing thoughts and subsequent feelings. She encouraged my husband and I to participate in the sessions so we could learn the tools/ words to use alongside our children. This really helped all of us make substantial progress in handling the issues we faced. We will definitely continue to use her strategies throughout the kids’ development!
Thank you, Dr. Weisz!!
Julie Z.
